JUDAEA. Bar Kokhba Revolt (AD 132-135). AR sela (27mm, 14.37 gm, 1h). NGC Choice AU 4/5 - 4/5, overstruck. Undated issue of Year 3 (AD 134/5). Simon (Paleo-Hebrew) on two sides, star above façade of the Jerusalem Temple, the Ark of the Covenant seen from end in center of entrance / For the Freedom of Jerusalem (Paleo-Hebrew), lulav with etrog at left. GBC 6, 6439. GBC 5, 1411. TJC 267. Solidly struck on toned flan, but with enough of the host coin visible to see it is likely a Vespasian Antiocheni tetradrachm with eagle and palm reverse. The silhouette of the emperor is bold on the obverse, along with much of one palm and part of an eagle wing on the reverse.
