PAPHLAGONIA. Amastris. Anonymous Issue. Ca. 2nd century AD. AE (21mm, 5.92 gm, 6h). NGC Choice VF 5/5 - 2/5. Ο-ΜΗ-ΡΟϹ, diademed, draped bust of Homer right, seen from front / ΑΜΑϹΤΡΙΑΝΩΝ, Meles, river-god, reclining left on water-urn, lyre resting on right knee with right hand, leaning on left arm with reed in left hand; ΜΕΛΗϹ in exergue. RPC IV.1, Online temp. 4905. SNG Stancomb 1053 (this coin). Very rare. Well-struck and centered on a mix of chocolate and caramel surfaces.
