João V gold 800 Reis 1731-B Clipped NGC, Bahia mint, KM119, LMB-76 (1st Shield), Guimaraes-1727-1.1 (5th Shield). 1.34gm. An incredibly elusive piece, Guimaraes noting only 4 examples known. Showing the usual clipped edges (a torment commonly seen in these issues) but otherwise well-defined motifs with even highpoint wear. Missing from the Eliasberg, Norweb and other major collections, this is the only example we have located auctioned in the last 20 years.
