Diademed head of deified Alexander III right, with horn of Ammon; dotted border / BAΣIΛEΩΣ / ΛYΣIMAXOY, Athena seated left, Nike crowning royal name in outstretched right hand, resting left arm on grounded shield decorated with lion head boss, transverse spear in background; ΔIP monogram in inner left field, ΠA monogram in outer right field. Thompson -. Müller 489. Extremely rare - no examples in sales archives. A truly magnificent example of this extremely popular type. Tied for the finest certified with five total Lysimachus tetradrachms graded at Mint State with a star for superior eye appeal.
