CYPRUS. Salamis. Evagoras I (ca. 411-374/3 BC). AR stater or didrachm (24mm, 10.85 gm, 11h). NGC AU 4/5 - 4/5, Fine Style. E u va ko ro (Cypriot on right), bearded head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied before neck; linear border / EY va Pa si le vo se (Cypriot and Greek around), bearded male goat couchant right on dotted ground line; all in incuse circle. SNG Copenhagen 47-8 var. (barley grain above, linear border). Tziambazis 113 var. (barley grain above, A to right). Firmly struck on lustrous flan from dies of magnificent style. A remarkable example of the type on good metal.
