JUDAEA. Bar Kokhba Revolt (AD 132-135). AR sela (26mm, 14.61 gm, 1h). NGC Choice AU 4/5 - 5/5. Dated Year 2 (AD 133/4). Jerusalem (Paleo-Hebrew), legend on either side of façade of the Jerusalem Temple, cross in pediment, the Ark of the Covenant seen from end in center of entrance / Year Two of the Freedom of Israel (Paleo-Hebrew), lulav with etrog at left. GBC 6, 6416a. GBC 5, 1387a. Deeply struck on both sides with no trace of an undertype. Medium cabinet toning with flashes of rainbow throughout.
Hendin notes the subtype A with variations, specifically the orientation of the yod and the straight-edge style of the shin in the obverse legend.
