Fuad I gold Proof 500 Piastres AH 1351 (1932) PR65 NGC, London mint, KM355, Fr-31. Conditionally and aesthetically advanced for an example of Fuad's expansive 500 Piastre denomination, especially when located in this appreciable Proof striking. Successful as a composition exhibiting a sensitively rendered portrait raised in surprisingly relief against still, glass-like fields beneath, peppered with ample die polish likely precluding this piece from a coveted "Cameo" designation. Regardless, the specimen on offer certifies as the second finest and bested only by two occupants at NGC in PR66, one of which we offered to great fanfare as part of the highly successful Paramount Collection.
