(cross-crosslet) hЄnRIC': DI': GRΛ': RЄX: ΛGL': Z: FRΛ' | : (double saltire stops), crowned, nimbate figure of St. Michael the Archangel with both feet on the dragon (Satan), spearing with cross-tipped staff / (cross-crosslet) PЄR: CRVCЄ': TVΛ': SΛLVΛ: nOS: XPЄ': RЄDЄ' (double saltire stops), Tudor shield over ship, h-(rose) above. A handsomely struck example of the type for the grade, with what appears to be an irregular rippling-like texture in the field to the right of St. Michael, likely resulting from the annealing of the metal. Not recorded as a variant in the Schneider Collection, overall wear is relatively mild, and obscured by a slightly shallow engraving. Sold with old dealer tag.
