Eadmund Penny ND (939-946) AU58 PCGS, Uncertain mint (possibly Chester), Frard as moneyer, Horizontal Two-Line (HR 1) type, S-1105, N-691, CTCE-198. +EΛ DMVND REX, small cross pattée / FRΛRD | D MON in two lines, group of seven pellets above and below, row of three crosses in between. An exceedingly scarce issue, not just with Frard as moneyer, of which only a handful have surfaced at auction in recent decades, but for Eadmund as king. An always coveted horizontal type exhibiting attractive peach-tinged surfaces and fully struck-up legends, and sure to excite collectors of this enigmatic series.
