EGYPT, Alexandria. Aelius. Caesar, AD 136-138. Æ Hemidrachm (34mm, 23.18 g, 12h). Dated Cos. II (AD 137). Bareheaded and draped bust right / ΔHM ЄΞ OV C VΠAT · B ·, Homonoia enthroned left, holding patera; cornucopia at side. Köln 1273; Dattari (Savio) 2078; K&G 34.5. Fine, brown patina.

Interestingly, the Alexandrian coinage in the name of Aelius was dated by the Caesar's titles as tribune and consul, the latter for the second time. Other series generally involved the dating of the coins with respect to the the emperor's regnal year rather than the conventions employed here.
