Constantine IV Pogonatus. 668-685. AV Solidus (19mm, 4.30 g, 6h). Barbarous imitation. Uncertain Italian or Sicilian mint(?). Helmeted and cuirassed bust facing, holding transverse spear behind head; blundered legend / Cross potent set on three steps; Heraclius and Tiberius, each holding long cross, standing facing on either side; blundered legend. DOC –; cf. MIB 54X1-8 (for other crude imitations of imperial mints in Italy); cf. SB 1218. Good VF. Interesting crude style.
