INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION, view of façade of west front of International Exhibition building in South Kensington, exhibition opening date below / Britannia seated three quarters to left, head facing, holding wreath in right hand and Union Flag in upraised left hand, to right of Commerce seated to left with open right hand and holding flag inscribed EUROPE ASIA AFRICA AMERICA AUSTRALASIA in five lines, both surrounded by items suggestive of trade and industry; three ships at anchor to right in left background, a further ship sailing in the far distant background, PINCHES. to left and LONDON to right in exergue. BHM 2739. 19.06g, 42mm, 12h.
