GREAT BRITAIN. Crown, ND (1604-05). London Mint; mm: lis. James I. PCGS AU-53.
S-2652; N-2097. Second coinage. Obverse: James, holding sword and reins, riding caparisoned horse trotting right; Reverse: Garnished square-topped coat-of-arms. Undoubtedly one of the finest examples of the type extant, this enchantingly toned Crown dazzles with an immense wholesome nature and some hints of golden-champagne brilliance emanating from the protected areas. Meanwhile, the level of gentle handling is barely observed, making this a great overall representative of the type. To view all items from the Mark and Lottie Salton Collection, click
