Volumes 1-27/1, Serial Nos. 1-75 (Huntsville etc., 1960-1987), complete for the period covered. 4to, loose sheets, stapled, as issued. 981 pages; illustrated. Also included are various indexes and supplementary issues published during this period. The initial nineteen issues are the 1975-1976 printings. Generally fine. Bourne 1960-9. An indispensable source of information, essential for anyone seriously interested in early American numismatics. The field of colonial coins had been neglected for years when Al Hoch founded the publication, energizing a new generation of collectors that was just beginning to coalesce at that time. The CNL became the journal of record as discoveries were made, past errors corrected, and new theories expounded. Reading it provide a thorough education not only in early American numismatics, but in the history of the hobby and the development of the science. Ex M. Bourne Library.
