Volume I, Nos. 1-8 (New York, January 1, 1885-October 15, 1885), complete, bound in one volume. 4to, contemporary or slightly later blue cloth with marbled sides; spine lettered in gilt. Each issue 8 pages. Final issue with some marginal repairs; generally folded for mailing. Very good. Bourne 1880-41. Rare: the only copies we recall having handled, despite its stated circulation of 7500 copies. An interesting publication, better than many of the period. The early issues are bilingual (English and German), with the proportion of Germany content fading over time. Lyman Low is an advertiser starting in the third issue. Crawford 581. Ex M.
