Rare Error Coin Specialty Publication
Jeffress, R.V. BOB'S COINS. Gainesville, 1968-1969. Folio [40 by 29.5 cm], original black pebbled cloth, gilt. Bound volume comprising Issues 9-17 of Bob's Coins, including the firm's Mail Bid Sales 9-17, interspersed with blank leaves on some of which have been affixed various clippings from numismatic newspapers and other publications, primarily on the subject of error coins. Starting with issue 11, the front page begins to call itself "Volume # 1," with Issue 13 beginning Volume 2. Issues are generally 16 to 24 pages, including the mail bid sale. Folded for mailing, with various address labels, etc. Generally near fine. The only issues of this obscure amateur publication that we recall seeing--and we think we'd remember encountering it before. Not listed in Gengerke, the ANS Library catalogue, or anywhere else it occurred to us to check. Ex M. Bourne Library.
