New York, April 23, 1892. 8vo, original printed yellow-green paper covers. 45, (1) pages; 615 lots; 4 fine tinted plates depicting patterns and rare Canadiana, in tints approximating their metallic content (gold, silver and copper). Spine worn, but sound; some staple rust. Some light chipping to covers. Old dampstaining affecting some text and plates, especially the final plate. Good. Adams 6, with plates. A rare plated catalogue featuring George D. Woodside's outstanding collection of United States pattern coins. The Woodside collection is one of the finest collections of patterns ever formed and, with plates, is one of the rarities of American numismatic literature. The sale also featured James Oliver's notable collection of Canadian coins, tokens and medals, with important pieces including a 1760 Montreal medal depicted on the plates. Rated A- overall by Adams, A for patterns and B+ for Canada. Davis 785 (recording no plated copies sold between 1980 and 1991). Ex Harry W.
