Scott & Company, et al. THE AMERICAN JOURNAL OF PHILATELY AND COIN ADVERTISER. New York, 1879-1886. Nineteen issues, being Volumes XIII (January, April, July and October 1879); XIV (January, July and October 1880); XV (April and July 1881); XVI (January, April, July and October 1882); XVII (January and October 1883); XVIII (April 1884); XIX (January 1885); and XX (January and March 1886). Tall 8vo, self-covered as issued. Generally very good or better. Bourne 1870-57. The present lot constitutes most of the issues published under this title. The American Journal of Philately was established in 1868 and was published by the New York Philatelic Society. In 1879, its publication was taken over by Scott & Company, who added "and Coin Advertiser" to the title. In these years, the publication is mostly a vehicle for Scott & Company products.
