As Brought to You from Maine...
Staebler, L. Merner [editor]. THE PENNSYLVANIA NUMISMATIST. Volume I, Nos. 3-5. Johnstown, Pennsylvania, then Saco, Maine, July-September 1898. Three issues. 8vo, self-covered. Pages 9-20. Very good or better. Bourne 1890-34. A curious publication, which began life in Pennsylvania (as one might expect) but which starting with the fourth issue was published out of Saco, Maine. Indeed, the five issues published emanated from four different addresses, which may have contributed to its downfall. The main article in all three issues here present--"The Nomenclature and Changes of the Roman Imperial Coinage," by A.W. Hands--is cribbed from Spink's Numismatic Circular. Ex Kolbe Sale 21, lot 273; ex M. Bourne Library.
(Estimate: $100)
