Rarely Seen Collector Review
Thomas, F.A. [editor]. COMMON SENSE: DEVOTED TO THE INTEREST OF COLLECTORS OF ALL CLASSES. Subtitle varies. Five issues: Volume I, Nos. 6-9 and 12 (Mexico, New York, October-December 1887, January and April 1888). First and last issues self-covered tabloids, others 8vo in original printed paper covers. 4-12 pages each. Some covers detached; folded. Generally very good. Bourne 1880-78 and 1880-79. A rare general collecting publication. The numismatic content is somewhat meagre, but the periodical illustrates the general world of casual collecting at the time in small-town America. Crawford 515. Ex M. Bourne Library.
