Hand-priced in ink, with a handful of names recorded. Plates folded at bottoms; else near fine. Adams 42, with plates. Rated A for large cents and early silver, A- overall. A scarce sale, with plates depicting exquisite large cents (the entirety of Plate I) and important early U.S. silver coinage and patterns (Plate II). Plate II also depicts a "1650" Pine Tree Shilling that Woodward accepted as legitimate. Pages 61-62 of American Numismatics before the Civil War, by Q. David Bowers, include some very interesting information on Burton (1847-1930), who had been involved with the hobby since the 1850s. Davis 1166.
