Marw-al-Rudh (meaning "Marw on the River" or "Little Marw") was a town on the Murgab River in northern Afghanistan, five or six stages up the river from the much better known city of Marw. This mint is known from only three examples, two of which are similar in that the name is Marw is in Arabic and Marw-al-Rudh in Pahlawi, while this coin has the name Marw-al Rudh in both languages
