KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 14.35 g, 6 h), Amphipolis, struck under Antipater, Polyperchon or Kassander, circa 323/2-316/5. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Young jockey, holding palm frond in his right hand and reins in his left, riding horse to right; below horse, aphlaston; below raised foreleg, pellet-in-Π. Le Rider pl. 46, 17. SNG ANS 740. Lustrous and attractive. The obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good extremely fine.
