ISLAMIC, Arabia. Sulayhids. 'Arwa bint Ahmad, AH 484-532 / AD 1091-1137. Dinar (Gold, 22 mm, 2.33 g, 1 h), Adan, blundered date. Album 1077. A particularly crude example. Struck from somewhat corroded dies and with flan faults, otherwise, very fine.


Queen Arwa ibn Ahmad was the first woman to bear the title Hujjah ('proof' [of God]), which in Shia Islam denotes a person with a very close relationship to God.
