Vietnam - South ND (1955) P-14a* PMG Very Fine 30 200 Dong (Replacement)
An amazing offering and one of the most spectacular notes from (South) Vietnam we have had the pleasure of offering. Replacements for this series (indicated by stars below the serial numbers) are very scarce to downright rare, and a 200 Dong replacement is almost unheard of. Issue totals are not reported but it no doubt was very limited, and this replacement is surely missing from even the most advanced collections. Pinholes and some minor repairs are noted by PMG, but neither are distracting, and the eye-appeal is excellent. Rare opportunity for the specialist, as we were unable to confirm any previous offerings at public auction in at least the last 5 years.
