Queen's South Africa Medal, 3rd type reverse, with 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal, awarded to 1488 Serjt J. Laity Rly. Pnr. Regt.,(Railway Pioneer Regiment) NEF with hairlines in the fields. Come with photocopies of his discharge sheet showing that despite only serving 6 months, he achieved rapid promotions, joining as an engineer on 27th December 1900, then promotion to Lance Corporal, then to Sergeant, before discharge on 19th June 1901.
