A note from BCD: If any real enjoyment together with unexpected surprises is to be had while searching old sales for hidden provenances, chances are that Coin Galleries catalogues will be involved. The reason is that the cataloguers almost never bothered to record earlier provenances for the coins offered, even if these came from old collections. The five catalogues offered here include many, mostly Greek but also Roman and World, coin photos that could reward the meticulous researcher.
