Annam (Vietnam), Minh Mang, three tein, year 16 (1835), dragon, rev. characters around sun (Sch.206D; KM.229; Fr.18), certified and graded by NGC as About Uncirculated 55
The highest grade awarded by NGC, none are graded higher and the only example in this grade. In the opinion of the current cataloguer the piece is significantly undergraded.
A beautiful coin, with rich canary yellow surfaces. Rarely found without surface issues or damage from jewellery mount, made even more desirable as this regnal year is particularly difficult to obtain. The coin is well struck and sharp, making this a scarce and highly desirable example.
