Diademed head of Alexander I right; diadem ends fall straight behind / Zeus seated on a throne, left, holding Nike in his outstretched right hand and a scepter with his left hand; legend vertical on sides: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ ΘΕΟΠΑΤΟΡΟΣ ΕΥΕΡΓΤΟΥ; A in field at his foot; date ςΞR in exergue. SC (Seleucid Coins) 1782. Cf SGC 7031. Near Extremely Fine/Good Very Fine; well centered; lustrous and fresh surfaces; turquoise and rose highlights; minor silver surface delamination behind portrait; die flaw at base of neck. Magnificent Hellenistic portrait.
