James II (1685-88), Guinea, 1685, first laureate head left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, grained edge, 8.30g, 6h (Bull 320; MCE 123; S.3400), a soft strike and a small metal flaw below the bust, N scratched into the reverse field next to English shield, but overall very fine and an attractive portrait with some lustre.
