George I (1714-1727), 'South Sea Company' Shilling, 1723, first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, SSC in angles, seven strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 6h, 5.99g (ESC 1176; Bull 1586; Spink 3647), lightly polished, with some residue to reverse, hairline scratch to face, otherwise lightly toned, very fine.
