KM# 538 - Cuarto de Onza Platino 1989 Mo. NGC PF-68 ULTRA CAMEO Posiblemente la pieza más conocida acuñada en platino, muchas veces confundida como parte de la Serie Libertad, esta emisión como tal estuvo destinado a formar parte del "Set Arcoíris" o "Rainbow Proof Set" un pequeño estuche aterciopelado color rojo obscuro, que contiene tres piezas, a la razón de 1 onza en plata, ½ onza en oro y ¼ en platino, encargado por una firma extranjera a la Casa de Moneda de México y elaboradas en 1987 a pesar de estar fechadas en 1989. Se tiene registro de 3500 sets ensamblados para el mercado estadounidense, no obstante fuentes norteamericanas aseguran solo 738 fueron realmente distribuidos, de los cuales muy rara vez se deja ver esta pieza en particular y menos aún ofrecerse públicamente. There is a record of 3500 sets assembled for the
U.S. market, however U.S. sources claim that only 738 were actually distributed, of which this particular piece is rarely seen, let alone offered publicly. proof finish, 19 millimeters in diameter and 7.78 grams in weight.
