PL-UNCAT - Onza Piedra de los Soles 1993. NGC PF-64 Medalla muy popular que originalmente fue acuñada en plata 0.925, posteriormente en plata 0.999 y este ejemplar a pesar de indicar ser 1 onza troy de plata, ley 0.999 y el peso oficial de 31.103, fue acuñada en latón con peso de 32.80 gramos. Hay muchos otros casos en el que a los cuños se les borra la ley y el peso para ser emitidas en metales industriales como cuproníquel, bronce o latón y formar parte de las series obsequiadas a los trabajadores y funcionarios de Casa de Moneda o Banco de México, emisiones sumamente escasas. Este es el segundo ejemplar del cual tenemos conocimiento, ya que en nuestra Subasta #13 ofrecimos un ejemplar certificado por NGC en el mismo grado, el cual se vendió en $28,750.00 con comisión

A very popular medal that was originally minted in silver 0.925, later in silver 0.999 and this specimen, in spite of indicating 1 troy ounce of silver, law 0.999 and the official weight of 31.103, was minted in brass with a weight of 32.80 grams. There are many other cases in which the grade and weight are erased from the dies to be issued in industrial metals such as cupro-nickel, bronze or brass and to be part of the series given to the workers and officials of the Mint or Banco de México, extremely rare issues. This is the second specimen of which we are aware, as in our Auction #13 we offered a specimen certified by NGC in the same grade, which sold for $28,750.00 with commission.
