MEXICO. KM# 65 VAR (A&C# 246 VAR) M05-33a (VAR) – Medio Real 1733/2 MX MF. VF De la revisión efectuada a estos ejemplares podemos concluir que la mayor parte de los ejemplares son 33/2. Muchos de ellos se encuentran reconocidos como tal y otros tantos simplemente como 33. Esto deriva de la gran rareza que ha implicado identificar a través del tiempo ejemplares en el que el segundo 3 de la fecha se observe realmente limpio y sin regrabaciones. Hemos de destacar el por de más espectacular ejemplar que Brad Yonaka ilustra como M05-33a perteneciente a su colección y que más claramente pudimos contemplar visualmente en subasta de Cayón de fecha Diciembre, 2005, bajo el lote No. 4213 el cual presenta un segundo 3 sutil y de limpia acuñación a diferencia del resto de los ejemplares analizados. Sin duda es el ejemplar perfecto para culminar con esta controversia y dejar claro la existencia de ejemplares 1733 MX MF y 1733/2 MX MF. Ahora bien, de los ejemplares 1733/2 MX MF que analizamos existen 2 grandes variantes de anverso, por un lado, aquella en que la F del ensayador toca la L de PHILIP y otra en la que la F del ensayador toca la segunda I de PHILIP, siendo esta segunda subvariedad 3 a 1 más escasa que la primera descrita y representada en el ejemplar que aquí se oferta. Piquetitos y rayoncitos, pátina oscura particularmente en periferias

based on the review of these specimens we can conclude that most of the specimens are 33/2. Many of them are recognized like that and many others as 33. This comes from the great rarity of identifying specimens over time in which the second 3 of the date is really clean and without regravings. We must highlight the most spectacular specimen that Brad Yonaka illustrates as M05-33a belonging to his collection and that we were able to see visually at the Cayon auction in December, 2005, under lot No. 4213, which presents a nice and clean second 3 unlike the rest of the specimens analyzed. It is undoubtedly the perfect specimen to end this controversy and make clear the existence of specimens 1733 MX MF and 1733/2 MX MF. Now, of the specimens 1733/2 MX MF that we analyze there are 2 great obverse variants, the one in which the F of the assayer touches the L of PHILIP and another one which the F of the assayer touches the second I of PHILIP, being this second subvariety 3 to 1 scarcer than the first described and represented in the specimen that we offer here. Pinholes and scratches, dark patina, particularly in the peripheries.
