Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Marconi's wireless transmission across the Atlantic, also referred to as the 2001 Wireless Transmission £2 coin. Guglielmo Marconi's efforts led to the first wireless transmission in December 1901. Three dots in Morse Code (letter "S") was successfully transmitted via radio wave technology from Poldhu in Cornwall to St John's, Newfoundland.
