CRETE, Phaistos. Circa 330-320 BC. AR Stater (22.5mm, 11.84 g, 11h). Herakles, nude, standing facing, head right, holding club set on ground and bow; lion skin to left; to right, coiled serpent above laurel branch / Bull standing left within wreath. Svoronos, Numismatique 17 (same obv. die as pl. XXIII, 13, rev. die as XXIII, 12); Le Rider, Crétoises, pl. III, 22 (same obv. die); SNG Copenhagen 512. Toned, rough horn silver patches and some smoothing. Fine.
