SICILY, Messana. 317-311 BC. Æ Litra (21.5mm, 10.68 g, 5h). Head of the nymph Messana left, wearing tainia; helmet behind neck / Messana, holding kentron and reins, driving biga right; [ME]-ΣΣANIΩN around. Caltabiano Series XVIII, 783–6 var. (unlisted with this rev. type, but obv. die D1); CNS 18 Ds1 var. (same); HGC 2, 831 var. (same). Dark brown surfaces. Good VF. Extremely rare with this reverse, unpublished in the standard references.
