ISLANDS off THRACE, Thasos. Circa 90-75 BC. AR Tetradrachm (34mm, 16.78 g, 11h). "Imitative" series. Head of young Dionysos right, hair in band and wreath of ivy with berries at the tip / Herakles standing left, right hand on club set on ground, lion skin draped over left arm; monogram to inner left. Prokopov, Silberprägung, Group XIX, 1813 (V GB3/R 1427); Le Rider, Thasiennes 52; HGC 6, 359. Toned, underlying luster, flan flaw on reverse. Good VF.
