Pierre Marraud (1861-1958), politician and former Under Secretary of State for the ministère de l'Instruction publique et des Beaux-arts. The Pavilion was designed by the Romanian architect Duiliu Marcu (1885-1966) who had graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1912. The striking entrance to the Pavilion stood some 22 meters high.
