The gold Congressional Medal, of this design, was presented to Col. Charles A. Lindbergh on 15 August 1930.R. W. Julian is better known for his monumental tome, "Medals of the United States Mint, The First Century 1792-1892", but he also produced a series of satirical medals reflecting his strong right-wing political views. Struck by the Medallic Art Co., the reverse lists the media's double standards reporting on, "COHN AFFAIR | LETELIER | CHAPPAQUIDICK | "SELLING OF THE PENTAGON" | CAMBODIA | GULAG".
