SICILY, Syracuse. Hieron I. 478-466 BC. AR Tetradrachm (22mm, 17.41 g, 9h). Struck circa 475-470 BC. Charioteer driving quadriga right; above, Nike flying right, crowning horses / Diademed head of Arethousa right; four dolphins around. Boehringer Series XIIc, – (V168/R237 – unlisted die combination); HGC 2, 1307; Randazzo 510 (same dies). Toned, with golden iridescence around the devices, underlying luster, minor die wear on obverse, struck on a compact flan. Good VF.
