MACEDON, Akanthos. Circa 470-430 BC. AR Tetradrachm (29mm, 17.40 g, 2h). Attic standard. Lion right, attacking bull crouching left, biting into its hindquarter; in exergue, fish left / AKA-N-ΘIO-N in shallow incuse around quadripartite square in relief. Desneux 97 (D94/R87); AMNG III/2, 21; HGC 3, 385. Toned, very slight die shift on obverse. Good VF. Well centered.
