A Great War Distinguished Conduct Medal awarded to Serjeant Thomas Quinn, 6th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers who had landed on the 25th of April 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula comprising, Distinguished Conduct Medal, GVR, (1409 Sjt. T. Quinn. 6/Lan: Fus.), very fine (1).


DCM The London Gazette the 11th of March 1920.


1409 Sjt. T. Quinn 6th Battalion (Warrington).


He has displayed great gallantry and devotion to duty, throughout the recent actions of the Battalion on the 8th of October 1918. He commanded his platoon with marked ability. By his able leadership and disregard for personal safety, he set an excellent example to those under his command and gained the complete confidence of all ranks.


Thomas Quinn joined the Army on the 6th of March 1908 he landed with the Lancashire Fusiliers in Gallipoli on the 25th of April 1915, Medal Index Card confirms, he was discharged on the 19th of June 1919 with Silver War Badge B/239823, no longer physically fit for Military service.
