Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1880, young head left, WW buried on thin truncation for engraver William Wyon, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D:, rev. St. George and dragon right, long tail to horse, date in exergue, small B.P. initials to upper right, edge milled, weight 7.97g (Marsh 91; S.3856). An appealing example with some light circulation wear, strong residual mint lustre, about extremely fine.

Calendar Year Mintage 3,650,080.
The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith".
