EPAMINONDAS: Boeotia, Thebes, temp. Epaminondas, silver Stater, c. 364-362 BC, Boeotian shield, rev. ΕΠ-ΠΑ, amphora, small Boeotian shield above, 12.15g, 11/5h (Hepworth, Epaminondas, pl. 3, 4; Hepworth 35; BCD Boiotia 542; HGC 4, 1333). A scarce and important variety, the obverse with subtle iridescence, about extremely fine.
