EX BCD COLLECTION: Elis, Olympia, silver Hemidrachm, c. 416-404 BC, eagle's head left, large ivy leaf below, graffiti ΔΑ in lower right field, rev. thunderbolt with wings above and volutes below, all within olive wreath, 2.97g, 3h (BCD Peloponnesos 629, this coin; BMC 41; MGK 463; SNG Delepierre 2115). Struck in high relief, good very fine and very rare.

Bought LHS Numismatics Auction 96, 8-9 May 2006, (BCD Peloponnesos), lot 629 where the catalogue includes a note:
"A note from BCD: the engraver Da...must have been so well-known that even when his name was not engraved on the die someone would scratch it on one of his coins. This may indicate an ancient trade or, at least, a special interest in coins signed by recognized master-engravers."
