From the RAJ Collection. Ex William and Louise Fielder Collection (Triton VIII, 11 January 2005), lot 141.

After the death of Archelaos, the crown passed to his son, Orestes, who was still in his minority. Aeropos, who is thought to have been a grandson of Alexander I, was appointed regent by the Macedonian Assembly, and then was appointed king after Orestes died (or was killed) in 398/7 BC. Very little is known of his reign. Aeropos is said to have died of an illness (Diod. 14.84.6), and was succeeded by his son, Pausanias.
