Moneyer issues of Imperatorial Rome. Lollius Palicanus. 45 BC. AR Denarius (18mm, 4.12 g, 6h). Rome mint. Head of Libertas right, wearing pearl diadem, cruciform earring, pearl necklace, hair collected into a knot behind, one lock falling down her neck, jewels in hair above forehead; LIBERTATIS downwards to left / View of the Rostra in the Roman Forum surmounted by a subsellium (tribune's bench); the Rostra consist of a platform supported by an arcaded; each column being ornamented with a rostrum (ship's beak); PALIKANVS above. Crawford 473/1; CRI 86; Sydenham 960; Kestner 3655-6; BMCRR Rome 4011-2; Lollia 2. EF, iridescent toning, a few bankers' marks on obverse.
