Estonia 2 Euro 2022 150th anniversary of the Society of Estonian Literati. Obverse: New commemorative coin shows an open book with the words of the first president of the Society of Estonian Literati Jacob Hurt written on it: 'Kui me ei saa suureks rahvaarvult, peame saama suureks vaimult'; meaning 'If we cannot be a great nation in number; we must be great in spirit'; with the year 1872 that the Society of Estonian Literati was founded. The society was founded in Viljandi and then operated in Tartu; and it helped promote literature in Estonian and so indirectly raised the cultural level of the Estonian people. Reverse: Geographical map of Western Europe spans the outer ring and inner core on the right side of the coin. The inscription 2 EURO is superimposed over the map of Europe; with the numeral '2' located in an open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean. 12 stars are located on the right side of the outer ring; with six stars atop the map of Europe and six stars below it; six vertical stripes cut across the inner core of the coin; visually connecting the upper and lower star segments.
