Struck circa 1154-1158. + STIEFNE :·, crowned bust facing slightly left, holding scepter / + RICΛRD : ON : L[VND :], voided short cross pomée within quatrefoil, with inward-facing fleur in each quarter. Allen, English 137; Mack 117f; SCBI 20 (Mack), 1621 (same dies); BMC –; North 881; SCBC 1282. VF, toned, small edge split. A clear example of this normally poorly struck issue.
